Dr. Brenda Dann-Messier
Dr. Brenda Dann-Messier is Assistant Secretary for Vocational and Adult Education at the United States Department of Education. An appointee of President Obama, Dr. Dann-Messier is a noted supporter of lifelong learning and education. Under her leadership in Providence, R.I. Dorcas Place Adult & Family Learning Center implemented family literacy, workforce education, adult education and ESL classes as well as job training programs linked with employers and industry sectors.

Dr. Thelma Melendez de Santa Ana
Dr. Thelma Melendez de Santa Ana is Assistant Secretary for Elementary and Secondary Education at the United States Department of Education. In this position, she plays a pivotal role in policy and management issues affecting elementary and secondary education. She directs, coordinates and recommends policy for programs designed to assist state and local education agencies with improving the education and elementary and secondary school students.
